Seven Jaguares Return to Argentina

Ahead of Los Jaguares’ second warm-up match seven players are returning home to Argentina. Los Jaguares will take-on the Lions in Johannesburg on Friday in the second of two warm-up matches before debuting against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on February 26.

The returning players are doing so for a variety of factors. Veteran back-rower Juan Manuel Leguizamón is to become a father while the youthful trio of Cristian Bartoloni, Ignacio Larrague and Santiago Iglesias Valdez are being released.

Also returning home are three injured players – center Gabriel Ascárate, winger Tomás Carrió and back-rower Tomás Lezana. Ascárate is out with Plantar fasciitis (jogger’s heel), Carrió has a minor hip injury while Lezana has a bruised acromion.

The return of Carrió is expected to see Lucas González Amorosino flying to South Africa as his replacement. Also in consideration for inclusion is Juan Martín Hernández who remains in Buenos Aires recovering from injury.
