Italian Head Coach Jacques Brunel has made two changes for his team’s second round match of the Six Nations. Italy will play host to England in Rome on Sunday and do so with Toronto’s Robert Barbieri who has been Called up by Italy.
Aged 31, Barbieri was first capped by Italy in 2006 and has been capped 39 times to date. He missed out on selection for Rugby World Cup 2015 with his most recent test being in the 2015 Six Nations against Wales.
Barbieri opted to play for Italy at international level while his brother, Michael, was capped by Canada. He will be joined by other players from the Americas. Argentine players – Martín Castrogiovanni, Gonzalo Garcia and Sergio Parisse.
The naming of Barbieri on Brunel’s roster to face England is one of two changes from the squad which played away to France this past Saturday. Fullback David Odiete, second-rower George Biagi and flanker Jacopo Sarto are in doubt for England leading Brunel to select Barbieri and Marchiol Mogliano’s Andrea Buondonno
