Americas Rankings – February 07 2016

With the inaugural Americas Rugby Championship having kicked-off this past weekend today marks the first update for Americas Rankings of the year. Teams with their rankings on the line were Brazil, Canada, Chile and Uruguay. Argentina and the USA saw no changes due to Argentina’s side being Argentina XV and not Los Pumas.

As of February 07 2016 there are no changes in overall position. There have, nonetheless, been movement in rankings points with Canada improving from 62,65 points to 63,62 due to winning by a big score against Uruguay. It sees the Canadians ranked slightly closer to the USA.

In losing Uruguay dropped from 62,11 to 61,14 points. It was not enough to see Los Teros overtaken by Chile despite Los Cóndores having won against Brazil on Saturday. The result of the match in Santiago saw no changes in rankings or points to either of Chile and Brazil. With it Brazil remains in 7th, behind Paraguay.

Further changes could occur this coming Friday and Saturday. In São Paulo Brazil will host Uruguay on Friday while the USA will take-on Canada in Austin, Texas on Saturday. Rankings are up for grabs in both matches while the match between the Argentina XV and Chile will only be for Americas Rugby Championship points.
