While the revamped Americas Rugby Championship is set to begin this weekend, there’s still a significant number of Americas players involved in professional games this weekend, including 18 in the French Pro D2. Players from Argentina, Canada, Chile, and Uruguay will be glued to their screens this weekend to watch their countries play after giving their all for their employers.
Carlos Muzzio starts at loosehead prop for Mont-de-Marsan against Biarritz, with Agustín Ormaechea running out at scrumhalf. Los Teros are also represented by Felipe Berchesi, who is named on the bench for Carcassonne against Bourgoin with Canadian prop Andrew Tiedemann among their reserves.
Three Argentines are going solo for their clubs. Javier Rojas starts at centre for Albi at Narbonne, Demian Panizzo locks out the Colomiers scrum against Perpignan, and prop Damian Arias will be a substitute for Montauban who play host to Lyon.
A pair of their countryman start defend Provence from Aurillac’s advances. Leandro Assi starts at tighthead prop with Tomás Vallejos right behind at lock. Tarbes have double that number with four Argentines lined up to face Béziers. Agustín Costa Repetto and Jerónimo Negrotto are in the starting front row, with Sebastián Poet at flyhalf and Nicolás Vergallo the reserve scrumhalf.
Gerónimo Albertario, Martín Chiappesoni, and Ignacio Mieres travel with Dax to Bayonne. The friendly face of fellow Puma Martín Bustos Moyano will greet them along with token Chilean Pablo Huete. Lineups for the match have not been released but all are expected to play.
