Squads and Fixtures for Sydney 7s

The next round of the HSBC World Sevens Series is just a couple hours away and the final squads for the three Americas teams involved have been confirmed. A knee injury suffered by Kevin Swiryn in Wellington opens a space for Martin Iosefo in Mike Friday’s Eagles 7s team. Canada meanwhile have recalled fit-again veterans Mike Fuailefau and Nanyak Dala. Phil Berna has returned home to play for the national u20 side against the US All-Americans, while Luke McCloskey will sit out after making his series debut last weekend. Argentina have made no changes.

EDIT: Nanyak Dala is a late scratch for Canada, Luke McCloskey has been added in his place.

Both Argentina and the USA made the Cup quarter-finals in Wellington before losing to Australia in the Plate competition, USA in the semi-final and Argentina the final. The wins gave Australia an Americas hat-trick, having beaten Canada on Day 1 to relegate them to the Bowl quarter-final. A win over Russia by the Canucks was followed by defeat to Samoa in the Bowl semi-final.

Argentina are now ranked 5th overall after three tournaments, sitting just two points ahead of 6th-ranked USA. Canada rose one spot to 12th in Wellington. Squads and fixtures for each team are below. The HSBC World Sevens Series is streamed live on the official World Rugby page.
