Juan Pablo Estellés Replaces Franco Cuaranta in Argentina XV

A late change before departing for Houston, Texas has seen Juan Pablo Estellés replacing Franco Cuaranta in the Argentina XV. The away match is to be the opening fixture for both the USA and Argentina in the inaugural Americas Rugby Championship.

The Eagles will be welcoming back a number of professionals from the Aviva Premiership and Guinness Pro 12 while the Argentina XV is to be composed of home based players both professional and academy.

Córdoba winger Franco Cuaranta has been forced out. He suffered a knock to a left quadracep muscle and will not be fit to play in Texas. Rosario’s Juan Pablo Estellés has earned the call up based on his strong showing at the recent Seven de Viña del Mar in Chile.

Aged 27 Estelles has one cap to his name, having debuted in 2008 against Chile. That year he was still involved in Los Pumitas. He subsequently went through the PladAR academy program, playing for the Pampas XV in 2010, 2012 and 2013.

Saturday’s match will be played at the BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston on Saturday February 06. Kick-off is scheduled for 7pm local time (10pm Argentina).
