Americas Players in Championship Week 14

A number of Canadian and a pair of Argentines are on show as the Greene King IPA Championship enters its 14th week. Some absentees but it’s not a bad group.

In Saturday’s action Justin Blanchet continues on the blindside for Bedford as they host London Welsh at Goldington Road, but brother Sam drops out this week. Richard Thorpe makes his return on the bench on the Exiles after a six week break. Another Canadian blindside lines up for Moseley as Aaron Flagg runs out against Nottingham.

Meanwhile on Sunday there are two Canucks flying the Pirates flag against Ealing Trailfinders. Aaron Carpenter captains the ship from no8 while Brett Beukeboom will continue his hard work in the engine room. International teammates Tyler Hotson and Jon Phelan with lock out for Doncaster, with Phelan the man to start and Hotson to come in from the bench.

Argentina’s interests are held on the bench for Jersey as the Islanders head to Ashton Gate. Martín García Veiga and Ignacio Sáenz Lancuba will boost the front row in the second half. Gastón Mieres has earned himself a week off for Bristol after two strong performances in the British & Irish Cup.
