Canada’s national senior women’s team has booked a date with England on Saturday, November 26, at Twickenham, the home of English rugby. The date coincides with the England men’s team fixture with Argentina, and at the time of writing it’s unclear whether the women’s game will act as a curtain-raiser or follow the men’s fixture, which is currently slated for a 14:30 local time kickoff.
The match will end a three-game, two-week tour for Canada that begins against Ireland on November 19th and includes a mid-week fixture against New Zealand at a field to be determined in England. It will be Canada’s second meeting of the year with their fellow World Cup finalists, with the first match coming on July 5th in the USA.
Canada’s Maple Leafs development side recently dropped a competitive two-game series to the England Academy side, and some of those players are expected to be in the full-strength touring group in November as preparation for the upcoming Women’s World Cup that takes place in Ireland in August of 2017. A senior women’s long list of 79 players was released two weeks ago along with a tentative schedule for the year.
