Brazil vs USA moved to Barueri

The upcoming test match of Brazil vs USA has been moved to Barueri Arena, it was confirmed today by the Confederação Brasileira de Rugby (Brazilian Rugby Confederation – CBRu).The fixture is to be a round five match in the Americas Rugby Cup which get’s under way in just over a week’s time.

The decision to host the USA Eagles at the Arena Barueri sees the Estadio Canindé missing out. It is not the first change as the 1950 FIFA World Cup’s Estádio do Pacaembuno had initially been scheduled to host the fixture.

Following a second change the Arena Barueri in Greater São Paulo has now been officially confirmed to host the Eagles on Saturday February 27. The fixture will kick-off at 8pm.

The Arena Barueri will also be used for the home international against Uruguay on Friday February 12 while on Saturday and Sunday February 20-21 it will play host to the Brazilian leg of the women’s World Sevens Series.

Brazil’s remaining home match in the Americas Rugby Championship, against Argentina will be played on Saturday March 5 at the Estádio Martins Pereira in São José dos Campos. Kick-off for the fixture is scheduled for 8pm.

This past weekend ESPN Brasil confirmed it will be broadcasting the Americas Rugby Championship and doing so live.
