Imhoff scores a double as Racing 92 demolish Scarlets

Argentine speedster was in fine form earlier today as the Buenos Aires winger Juan Imhoff scored a double as Racing 92 demolished Scarlets in Paris. The 27 year old was a vital cog in a comprehensive win and one which also featured Manuel Carizza and Martín Castrogiovanni.

A total of eight tries were scored by the home side, six more than the total managed by the visitors. Of the two Scarlets tries one was scored by Canadian winger DTH van der Merwe who continued his fine form and high try scoring strike rate.

Imhoff’s pair of tries came in either half. The Pumas winger crossed for the opening score of the game and his second try came much later when his team had total control.The 64-14 win was the biggest by any team this season in the European Challenge Cup and it came against the Guinness Pro 12 leaders.

The result was also Racing 92’s largest ever win in the European Challenge Cup. It saw the Top 14 side safely into the Quarter Finals with a match in hand. Racing 92 will now travel to Scotland to face the Glasgow Warriors next Saturday. Also on Saturday the Scarlets will play host to the Northampton Saints in Llanelli.
