Americas players in Pro 12 Week 12

The Americas is to have a number of players featuring in the Pro 12 this weekend. It is to be the 12th round of competition but due to the terrorist attacks in Paris two matches have been postponed with teams instead making up for the missed matches in the Champions Cup.

As such Zebre’s home match against the Glasgow Warriors and the Cardiff Blues’ fixture against Munster will not be played this weekend. Glasgow will face Racing 92 while Munster will take-on Stade Français, both games taking place in Paris.

Also postponed with Ulster vs Dragons with Ulster having an away match in the European Champions Cup against Top 14 strugglers Oyonnax. The Northern Irish province will host the Dragons on February 5 in Belfast.

The three remaining round 12 Guinness Pro 12 fixtures are to go ahead as normal. First up is a match in the Scottish capital as Edinburgh receive the bottom of the table and winless Benetton Treviso. Starting for the visitors at the back of the scrum is Robert Barbieri, a Canadian who is capped by Italy.

Also in action this evening will be the Ospreys vs Leinster in Swansea. Starting on the right wing for the home side will be Canadian flier Jeff Hassler. He is to be partnered by former USA junior Hanno Dirksen who is currently being considered for Wales’ Six Nations roster.

Completing round 12 will be a Sunday fixture featuring west Wales vs west Ireland as Scarlets play host to Connacht in Llanelli. Both sides have been top of the Pro 12 table this season with the Scarlets looking to stay there by winning at home.

Canadian DTH van der Merwe have been running in many tries and will play on the left wing. So far he has five tries in six Pro 12 matches for the Welsh region. He has played the full 80 minutes on all occasions. On the bench for Connacht will be USA Eagles fly half AJ MacGinty.
