63 Uruguayan players have been named on the new Estadio Charrúa High Performance Centre list. Those named are to begin preparations for 2016 next week, meeting on January 4 in Montevideo. The cited players are a mixture of Los Teros, Uruguay XV and Teros Sevens and all will train at the Charrúa centre.
Important activity awaits all three representative teams in 2016. Los Teros will face Canada in British Columbia on February 16 in the Americas Rugby Championship, the Uruguay XV will face Brazil in the South American A Championship on April 23 and Los Teros Sevens will travel to Mar del Plata, Argentina on January 9 followed by Viña del Mar, Chile on January 16 to compete in Hone Kong Sevens qualifiers.
All but four of Los Teros’ domestic players that participated in the World Cup are present. Oscar Durán, Alejo Corral, Francisco Bulanti, and captain Santiago Vilaseca have all retired from international duty. Durán has been appointed scrum coach for the High Performance Centre.
