Rosters named for Americas Seven in Mar del Plata

Rosters of competing nations have been named for Americas Seven in Mar del Plata. The Rugby Sevens tournament will take place on January 9-10 and serve as both Olympics preparation and Hong Kong Sevens preparation for those involved.

Hosts Argentina named their roster this past week. The 12-man squad features a combination of players certain to compete at Rio 2016 and emerging players for the future. The roster named by Brazil is very much one to prepare for the Olympic Games while South Africa and the USA are both very much experimenting.

Uruguay’s roster is larger with 16 players having been selected. Rather than preparing for the Olympics Uruguay is focusing on qualifying for the 2016 Hong Kong Sevens. The South Americans qualifying tournament will take place later on in January in Viña del Mar, Chile.
