Argentine Roster for Americas Seven in Mar del Plata

Argentina’s 12-man roster for the Americas Seven in Mar del Plata has been named. The side trained by Santiago Gómez Cora is preparing for the international Sevens competition to be played in the city of Mar del Plata on January 9-10.

The selected players will meet in Buenos Aires on January 04 to prepare for the tournament. The following day they will travel to Mar del Plata, the same city that hosted the 2001 Rugby Sevens World Cup.

Los Pumas 7s will face countries from both South America and North America in addition to South Africa. Brazil, Canada, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and the USA are to all participate. With this being the year of the Olympic Games the event is vital preparation for all involved.

Argentina’s roster includes regular members who play on the World Sevens circuit. The new sensation Bautista Ezcurra is 10 years younger than Nicolás Bruzonne. Both players are contenders to compete in Rio 2016.

The competition is the second of three international Rugby Sevens events in South America over the coming weeks. The first will be played in Punta del Este, Uruguay this coming weekend while the third will take place in Viña del Mar, Chile in January.
