Manoa Sidelined for Four Weeks with Knee Injury

European Champions Toulon have suffered an injury set-back ahead of their away fixture against Leinster this coming weekend in Dublin. USA Eagles enforcer Samu Manoa has been ruled out of the match and faces four weeks on the sidelines through injury.

The Californian forward was forced off early against Leinster in the round 3 home fixture on Sunday. The usual 80 minute player left the field in the 53rd minute being replaced by former French international second-rower Jocelino Suta.

Tests have shown that Manoa suffered an internal ligament injury to his knee and will not play again until January. The loss will force Toulon into rethinking as Irishman Paul O’Connell is also injured. Suta and Romain Taofifenua are now the likely starting second-row combination with Thibault Lassalle the likely benchman.
