Palamo called in for Cape Town

Thretton Palamo has been called up by Mike Friday for the Cape Town leg of the HSBC World Sevens Series. The World Cup star has been released by his club London Welsh for the weekend to take part in his first sevens action since the last round of the 2014-15 season in London.

Nate Augspurger is the man to drop out, returning home to attend his brother’s wedding. Mike Te’o had also been added to the squad and was presumed to be the one taking Augspurger’s place, but instead Friday has chosen to go with the power running of Palamo with his final squad selection.

The Eagles are drawn in Pool C along with Australia, Wales, and Portugal. All games will be streamed live starting Saturday on the World Rugby website.
