Sebastián Piñeyrúa Re-elected as URU President

With 100% of the votes of Uruguayan rugby cubs, Sebastián Piñeyrúa has been re-elected as President of the Unión de Rugby del Uruguay.

The remainder of the 10 positions have also gone to members of the team led by Piñeyrua. With unanimous support Piñeyrua will begin a new term in charge of a union aiming high. The URU seeks to become a Tier 2 union, qualify for Rugby World Cup 2015 and eventually be able to join Super Rugby.

Next Monday the current President is scheduled to nominate the positions for his 10 colleagues who will join him in the administration over the coming years.

Dr. Fernando De Posadas is expected to be confirmed as the Vice Preisdent. De Posadas is the current Vice President while Dr. Pablo Ferrari is also expected to be appointed but to the role of URU Secretary.
