Los Guarias Named for 2015 South American C Championship

A 26-man roster has been named to represent Costa Rica at the 2015 South American C Championship to be played this month in El Salvador. The three round tournament will be played from December 06-12 with Costa Rica entering as the favorites.

Costa Rica’s opening fixture will be against Guatemala, a team fresh off victories against El Salvador and Honduras. Unlike these three nations, Costa Rica is a World Rugby member union and has been playing international competition over a longer period.

The first round match ill be played this coming Sunday, December 06 with kick-off scheduled for 3:30pm local time (El Salvador and Costa Rica share the same time zone).

El Salvador, Guatemala and Costa Rica are competing in the event not only to be champion but to also win promotion to the South American B Championship. This year’s edition was played recently in Peru with Colombia beating the home side in addition to Ecuador and Venezuela.

Joining the three nations will be Panama, the hosts of the 2014 South American C Championship.
