Hearn set for London Irish debut

Ciaran Hearn will make his London Irish debut on Saturday afternoon against Harlequins at the Stoop. The Canadian World Cup star signed with Irish last month for the rest of the Aviva Premiership season following his good tournament form and will be given a run-out in the no13 jersey alongside Ireland ‘A’ international Eoin Griffin in a creative midfield pairing.

Hearn, from Newfoundland, will find a familiar face among the forwards as New Brunswick’s Jebb Sinclair starts in the second row. The two players have also represented the Atlantic Rock regional side together before rising to full international honours.

This marks the first time two Canadians will start together in the same side in an Aviva Premiership match. The Exiles will be hoping their North American duo can inspire them to a first victory of the season, as the club have dropped all five of their opening matches and currently sit at the foot of the competition table.
