Canadians, Eagles, Teros, Pumas in Pro 12 Week 9

Round 9 will begin tonight with the Cardiff Blues playing host to competition leaders Connacht. Missing for the visitors will be AJ MacGinty who faces a month out through injury. His World Cup Eagles teammate, Cam Dolan, will feature for the Welsh region. Dolan has been named on the bench.

Canadian winger DTH van der Merwe will wear the number 11 shirt against Italian side Benetton Treviso in an away match on Saturday. The Scarlets will be looking for an away win to maintain their solid position in the standings.

Also in action on Saturday will be Tommy Seymour who is also to play left wing, starting for the Glasgow Warriors who host Leinster. Seymour is from Tennessee but plays his international rugby for his mother’s country of birth, Scotland.

On Sunday Puma Lucas González Amorosino will start against the Newport-Gwent Dragons in his favorite position of fullback. Also in the Munster team to face the Dragons will be Uruguayan tighthead prop Mario Sagario who has been named on the bench.

Sunday’s second match will see Zebre hosting the Ospreys in Parma. Starting at inside center will be Mendoza’s Gonzalo Garcia who is capped by Italy. Former Puma Guillermo Roan has been named as a replacement prop. Starting for the Ospreys will be the fit-again duo of Jeff Hassler and Tyler Ardron, while former USA junior Hanno Dirksen is on the Ospreys’ bench.
