Americas players in Championship Week 11

The Greene King IPA Championship heads into the halfway point with a number of Americas players selected to take part in Round 11 of the English second division.

Martín García Veiga returns at hooker to head up Jersey’s meeting with Ealing Trailfinders. Fellow Argentina Ignacio Saenz Lancuba is on the bench as reserve loosehead.

Canadian Aaron Flagg continues in Moseley’s starting lineup against Bristol but switches to the second row this week. Pumas cap Gastón Cortes is reserve prop for Andy Robinson’s side.

Five North American internationals will take part in the match at Old Deer Park in Richmond. Aaron Carpenter’s outstanding form sees him retained as captain and no8 for Cornish Pirates as they face recalled Richard Thorpe and London Welsh. Matt Evans is on the left wing for Pirates, with Brett Beukeboom again on the bench. Thretton Palamo lines up at inside centre for the Exiles.

Two more Canucks are in action elsewhere. Jon Phelan wears the no5 shirt for Doncaster Knights against Bedford Blues, and Kyle Gilmour is recalled to the match day squad as a reserve for Rotherham Titans against London Scottish.
