Sánchez, Creevy and Imhoff nominated for Olimpia de Plata

The nominees are in for the 2015 edition of Argentina’s sporting excellence – the Olimpia de Plata. The three players up for the honor are Nicolás Sánchez, Agustín Creevy and Juan Imhoff. All three were integral components of Los Pumas’ Rugby World Cup campaign.

Captain Creevy featured in every match aside from the Bronze Final which he missed through injury. Earlier in the year he crossed for two tries against New Zealand in the Rugby Championship and captained Los Pumas to an historic test victory over South Africa in Durban.

Fly half Sánchez returned from Toulon to, like Creevy, sign for the Super Rugby franchise. He was the top point scorer in the World Cup with 97 points and earned the man of the match award against both Tonga and Ireland.

Argentina’s top try score with five was left winger Juan Imhoff who finished third overall. His double against Ireland and hat-trick in the Rugby Championship against the Springboks saw people stand up and take notice. His campaign ended early as he left the Semi Final after just one quarter with concussion.
