El Salvador Receives Donations from British Embassy

The British Embassy is seeking to capitalize on the success of the recent Rugby World Cup. With the objective of promoting culture and rugby in El Salvador has organized a donation campaign for the Federación Salvadoreña de Rugby.

More than 20 boxes weighing more than 307kg have been taken to El Salvador in collaboration with DHL, one of the official sponsors of the World Cup. Donated were sporting uniforms to be used for rugby purposes including cleats, uniformes, balls and training equipment.

Ambassador Bernhard Garside spoke of the importance of rugby to prevent violence: “in addition to contributing to health the sport helps people maintain focussed and alert to the implications of violence, because they permit utilizing their capacities in physical activities such as practicing rugby”.

The donation was received by the Federación Salvadoreña de Rugby’s president Daniel Olano, Los Torogoces Head Coach Fred Buscail, Technical Director Iván Seassal and Los Torogoces players Andrés Peña and Victor Novoa.

Los Torogoces are preparing to participate in the upcoming South American C Championship
which will have matches played on December 6, 9 and 12 in El Salvador with Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama joining the host nation in the tournament.
