Manoa Scores first try for Toulon

USA Eagles forward Samu Manoa made a strong start for new new club as he scored a first half try for Toulon in what was his second match for the club. The Californian joined the reigning European champions from English side Northampton whom he helped win the Aviva Premiership in 2014.

Manoa played in both the second-row and back-row for Northampton and he is expected to continue on in this tradition in France. His first appearance was in the second-row and he was joined by another player from the Americas in the pack with Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe playing at openside flanker.

Playing at home against Montpellier Toulon ran out comfortable winners. The 52-8 thrashing sees Toulon rise up into 4th position while Montpellier drop to 6th.
