Brazilian Women Impress at Valentín Martínez

Brazil’s Women Rugby Sevens squad took a further step forward in their preparation for the 2016 Olympic Games. Two Brazilian teams were involved in the Valentín Martínez tournament in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Such was the dominant performances of Brazil’s two teams that they met in the tournament final at Carrasco Polo club this afternoon. Playing as Brazil Yellow and Brazil Green it was the Green team who were crowned champions of Valentín Martínez by winning 26-7.

Earlier in the day Brazil Yellow defeated one of Argentina’s two teams, Argentina Blue by the scoreline of 19-10 while Brazil Green overcame Chile 22-0.

Also competing were Paraguay and 2016 qualified Colombia. They were joined by club sides from throughout South America with SPAC from São Paulo proving to be highly competitive before losing 33-0 to Argentina Red on Sunday.
