Argentine Super Rugby Team to Play in CASI

Argentina’s Super Rugby franchise will be playing home matches at the Club Atlético San Isidro (CASI) in the heartland of Buenos Aires rugby. The club made the confirmation on its website, confirming that an agreement with the UAR had been reached.

Located in the northern Buenos Aires suburb of San Isidro, CASI is one of Argentina’s most traditional clubs with it having produced big-name players including Jorge Allen, former Pumas coach Santiago Phelan and World Rugby Hall of Famer and former captain Agustín Pichot.

Argentina’s franchise, Los Jaguares, are to play eight home matches at CASI from March to July, with matches being played on Saturday evening’s from 7:00pm local time.  The venue will have a seating capacity of 10,000 with upgrades to the seating confirmed.

Work is to be done to modernize the facilities to equip CASI with HD Television, lighting and to improve both the training facilities and changing rooms. CASI insists that the upgrading will be carefully done to avoid impacting on the characteristic style and charm of the club.
