Brazil’s women’s Rugby Sevens team travel today to Uruguay to prepare for the upcoming Valentin Martínez, one of South America’s most traditional and important tournaments in junior, youth and women’s rugby categories.
This year’s event is to be the 22nd edition and will take place in Montevideo. For the Brazilian team it is vital preparation ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
In an effort to expand the player base and expand player options Brazil will be fielding two teams. The respective teams will play as Brazil Green and Brazil Yellow. Luíza Campos is to captain the Green team while Carla Barbosa will lead the Yellow.
The travel expenses are to be financed by an established agreement between the Ministry of Sport and the CBRu.
