Panama and Costa Rica meet in South American C Warm-up

The men’s and women’s test sides from panama will be visiting Costa Rica from November 6-8 as part of the preparation process for the 2015 South American C tournament which will be played next month in El Salvador.

Panama will arrive in Costa Rica with a delegation of approximately 35 people, with the objective of improving technical aspects and the technique of their players.

President of the Unión Panameña de Rugby (Panama Rugby Union), Chang Ng declared “the friendlies are necessary and great, especially to try new players who have recently joined the national side and, above all else, to see the development and how they perform as a team, under technical guidelines”.

A women’s Sevens tournament will be played at Liceo Franco Costarricense on Saturday November 07 starting at 8am.Playing will be the San José, Wák and Cartago clubs in addition to the test sides of Costa Rica and Panama.

The men’s teams will play the full version of rugby union with Costa Rica facing Panama in a test match with kick-off scheduled for 11:20am. Joining the two teams for the South American C Championship will be Guatemala and the host nation El Salvador.
