Peru Completes tour in Córdoba

The host nation of next month’s South American B Championship, Peru has been preparing for the tournament by touring Argentina. It came to a close on Monday with the Peruvian test team playing the final of three matches in Córdoba, a tour which had great focus on coaching.

The tour took place over a ten day period with Peru’s senior test team taking on three landmark Córdoba teams – Córdoba Athletic, La Tablada and Tala Rugby Club.

Training at the Córdoba Athletic facilities Peru received training from the Rugby Academy staff who worked with them on various aspects of rugby. Involved was former Puma Genaro Fessia who played at Rugby World Cup 2011, scoring a try against Romania.Peru also received physiotherapy assistance from Antonio Di Pietro, in addition to video analysis.

With two wins and a loss Peru returns home in time for the South American B Championship, a tournament also involving Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. The winner will face Brazil in repechage with the successful team qualifying for the 2016 South American A Championship.
