Argentine international outside back Lucas González Amorosino confirmed with ESPN Scrum in a live transmission that he will play for Irish province Munster on a short-term deal as a medical joker. He joins the Guinness Pro 12 side from rivals the Cardiff Blues whom he played for last season.
Aged 29 González Amorosino’s brief three-month stay in Munster is to bridge the gap between the World Cup and the Super Rugby season. He is set to be confirmed by the UAR as the latest to join the country’s Super Rugby franchise.
The well-travelled González Amorosino has been playing professional rugby since 2009, playing in England for the Leicester Tigers, in France for Montpellier and Oyonnax and, in Wales for the Cardiff Blues.
Speculation from Ireland has also suggested that an Argentine back-rower may also join Munster and that the player in question is Leonardo Senatore. Neither the player nor club is yet to confirm the possibility.
