Ecuador Name 25-Man Roster for South American B

The governing body of Ecuadorian rugby the Federación Ecuatoriana de Rugby has confirmed a 25-man player roster for the upcoming South American B Championship. Ecuador’s Head Coach Luis Zamora ehas called upon players from three of the country’s provinces with Guayas and Pichincha accounting for all but one of them.

To be played in the Peruvian capital of Lima from November 08-14, South America’s second category competition will see Ecuador battle it out against Colombia, Peru and Venezuela with the winner advancing to face Brazil in a repechage contest to determine who will play in the top division in 2016.

Nicknamed Los Piqueros, Ecuador is an up-and-coming rugby country. Despite it yet to have World Rugby membership the country was promoted to the South American B division after previously winning the South American C which also includes Central American republics.
