Belisario Agulla joins Newcastle Falcons

27 year old former Pumas winger Belisario Agulla has agreed to terms to join Aviva Premiership side the Newcastle Falcons. The move sees him joining his older brother and veteran Puma, Horacio playing in England after both began playing abroad in France.

Still with age on his side Belisario Agulla is not finished yet and could now be placed in a strong position to add to his previous 11 test caps. The move has come about after he was not signed to play Super Rugby for the Argentine franchise.

While both Belisario and Horacio Agulla will be in the Aviva Premiership it is to be Gonzalo Tiesi and Juan Pablo Socino joining the younger brother at Kingston Park while Horacio plays for Bath. He will also be joining USA forwards Eric Fry and Todd Clever at the Falcons.

Upon the announcement Newcastle Falcons director of rugby Dean Richards commented: “We’re pleased to welcome Belisario to the club, not only is he a versatile player who can play at either wing or centre but he adds further international strength to the squad. Belisario is a talented, fast and dynamic player who we’re certain will suit our pitch and who we’re sure will complement our existing group of players.”

He will be surrounded by some notable players in his regular position of wing including Samoan’s Sinoti Sinoti and Alesana Tuilagi in addition to Italian Giovanbattista Venditti.
