England regroup for match against Uruguay

Stuart Lancaster has named a much-changed England side to take on Uruguay as they look to move past their crushing knock-out defeat to Australia a week ago. The match will serve as a last opportunity for fans to watch the home side play in 2015, a harsh reflection of the brutal draw in Pool A.

Mako Vunipola swaps with Joe Marler to start at loosehead, while the back row sees the additions of James Haskell on the flank and Nick Easter in the back row. Haskell replaces benched Tom Wood, while Easter wins his 54th and likely final cap for England at no8 in place of dropped Ben Morgan.

Danny Care and George Ford are the new halfback combination, with Owen Farrell bumping out to centre and partnering with Henry Slade in an unusual midfield combination considering both centres regularly line up at no10 for their club sides. Jack Nowell is recalled on the wing in place of Jonny May, and Alex Goode replaces Mike Brown at fullback.

England have played Uruguay on one previous occasion, a lopsided 111-13 victory in Brisbane, Australia, during the 2003 World Cup.
