Scotland Change Ten for Eagles

Scottish Head Coach Vern Cotter has announced his player roster for Sunday’s Pool B match against the USA Eagles at Elland Road in Leeds. With the Northern Europeans backing-up from facing Japan on Wednesday Cotter has opted for ten changes.

Those retaining their places in the starting lineup are Mark Bennett, Grant Gilchrist, Stuart Hogg, John Hardie and Finn Russell. Among those missing out is Tennessee’s Tommy Seymour who scored a decisive try against the Japanese for Scotland.

Scrumhalf Henry Pyrgos replaces Greig Laidlaw and will also captain the team. He will join Russell in the halves in a combination expected to test the Eagles defense.

A win for Scotland will see Pool B’s second seeds topping the group. The pool’s other match taking place this weekend will be South Africa vs Samoa with the Africans looking for their first win and Samoa their second. Presently Scotland has five points and Samoa compared to Samoa and Japan who both have four.
