Mike Phillips and Eli Walker called up by Wales

Welsh Head Coach Warren Gatland has confirmed Mike Phillips and Eli Walker will be replacing the injured pairing of Leigh Halfpenny and Rhys Webb on his Rugby World Cup roster. Phillips is one of Wales’ most capped players and was a starting Lion during the 2013 tour of Australia. Eli, in contrast is a rookie.

Wales will begin their World Cup campaign in eleven days time against Uruguay in Cardiff. Gatland is under pressure to prevent further injuries which may well see a reserve side named to face Los Teros.
