Patricio Fernández to make Top 14 Debut

Highly promising Argentine fly half Patricio Fernández will make his Top 14 debut for Clermont from the bench in the opening round away match against La Rochelle on Saturday. The 20 year old has been named as the replacement fly half with French international Camille Lopez starting. Fernández joined the club earlier in the year and played for the espoirs.

Capped two times by Argentina Fernández is one of Argentina’s brightest young backs. He holds the world record for points scored at the World Rugby Under 20 Championship. His two test caps to date have been in the South American Championship.
