Entertainment at the British Embassy in Buenos Aires

More than 250 people gathered at the residence of the British Embassy in Buenos Aires to celebrate the upcoming Rugby World Cup which will be played in Britain, or more precisely England and Wales.

Among the invitees were the Unión Argentina de Rugby (Argentine Rugby Union – UAR) management Carlos Araujo (President), Fernando Rizzi (Secretary), Víctor Luaces (Pro Secretary), Jaime Barba (Adviser), Marcelo Rodríguez (Treasurer) and Tomás Petersen (Adviser) in addition to Agustín Pichot, Los Pumas captain Agustín Creevy and other players and staff members.

The British Ambassador, John Freeman, stressed that ”once again our country will host one of the world’s most important sporting events, that will be seen by millions from more than 200 countries”.

UAR President, Carlos Araujo, thanked the efforts of the U.K. for organizing the Rugby World Cup and said that ”our team is working hard to be at their peak”.

It follows the recent activity between the British Ambassador to Uruguay with Los Teros. Uruguay’s national team leave Montevideo for Japan this evening. They will fly to Asia via Madrid.
