British Ambassador Farewells Los Teros before World Cup

The British Ambassador to Uruguay, Ben Lyster-Binns farewelled the Uruguayan national men’s rugby team in an event at his Montevideo residence, days before the team departs for the World Cup which will be played in England and Wales.

Uruguay’s team is to depart on a high after winning last Saturday’s home match against the Argentina XV. The team will depart for Japan on Friday August 14 to play two Rugby World Cup warm-up matches against Asia’s strongest country. Los Teros will open their World Cup campaign against Wales in Cardiff on Sunday September 20.

It is to be the eighth Rugby World Cup and the third for Uruguay who is joined by nineteen other countries, all of whom participated in Rugby World Cup 2011. Uruguay is the only change to the 2011 participants, replacing Russia.
