Worcester Warriors release Ignacio Mieres

Last season’s English rugby second division champions, the Worcester Warriors have confirmed the departure of fly half Ignacio Mieres. The former Puma played for the club for two seasons after having previously spend three years at the Exeter Chiefs in addition to playing for Stade Français, Perpignan and the Leicester Tigers.

Mieres was a part of the relegated Worcester squad in the 2013-2014 season. The club won promotion back immediately, trading places with London Welsh. During his time at the Warriors Mieres played 38 matches but was overtaken by Ryan Lamb and Ryan Mills.

At Worcester he was one of four Pumas though all have now departed. Agustín Creevy has joined the Argentine Super Rugby franchise, Mariano Galarza now plays for Gloucester while Leonardo Senatore is unattached but will join Creevy in flying to South Africa this weekend to prepare for the third round Rugby Championship fixture.
