El Salvador to host 2015 South American C Championship

International competition in the Americas will come to a close for the year of 2015 in El Salvador. The Central American Republic is to stage this year’s South American C Championship which will be a repeat of the 2014 competition which involved Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama.

The four competitors are all Sudamérica Rugby members and not NACRA. This is the case despite their geographical location just as the common culture and language has resulted in Guyana playing in North American and Caribbean competition.

El Salvador will face Panama on the opening day while Guatemala will face Costa Rica. The second round will see the two winners facing the two losers while the third round will decide the final places.

A source close to Americas Rugby News told the site that both Honduras and Nicarágua had talks in January to compete as invited teams. Their involvement is yet to be made public.

Fixtures
Sunday December 6: El Salvador vs Panama; Guatemala vs Costa Rica.
Wednesday December 09: Winner Game 1 vs Loser Game 2; Winner Game 2 vs Loser Game 1
Saturday December 12: Bronze Final, Championship Final
