Los Pumas captain Agustín Creevy went into Friday’s match against New Zealand as a player yet to score a test try. He came out of it with two and with his reputation as one of the leading hookers in world rugby intact.
Creevy had a strong match in general play. He found his jumpers well in lineouts, tackled well and he also won penalties. It was from the maul that he was most effective, however, as he worked off lineout ball to cross for two tries and also gain notable metres as a ball carrier.
His two second half tries were scored from similar positions. On both occasions Creevy through lineout ball to Manuel Carizza who set up a maul from which the captain entered, gathered the ball and went over to score.
