Paraguay Rugby meet with the Pope

The Paraguayan Rugby Union – Unión de Rugby del Paraguay or URP will take part in a meeting this Saturday involving members of the Paraguayan Civil Society and Pope Francis as part of his visit to the country, beginning this Friday.

Civil Society considers rugby as an inclusive sport in society and as such issued an invitation to take part in the meeting. The meeting with His Holiness will take place at the Polideportico León Coundou del Colegio San José at 4:30pm on Saturday.

The URP board elected representatives Vicepresident Andrés Titio Alvarez (pictured above) and Henry Green for the meeting.

Pope Francis is from Argentina and is the first in history to be from the Americas and also the first from the Southern Hemisphere. He has previously received Los Pumas at the Vatican while the team has been on international duty playing in Italy.
