Carizza to start Super Rugby play-off

Argentine international Manuel Carizza has been named to start together with Eben Etzebeth for the Stormers. The Cape Town based franchise will play host to Australian side the Brumbies on Saturday.

Capped 43 times by Argentina Carizza is looking for a recall ahead of the World Cup. The Rosario forward was not involved in the 2014 Rugby Championship or European tour.  With Patricio Albacete’s non-involvement and Mariano Galarza’s continued recovery from injury Carizza stands a strong chance of selection.

Carizza recently signed a contract to return to Racing 92. He will be replacing Tomás Lavanini who was involved in the recent Top 14 play-offs. Lavanini is set to join the Argentine Super Rugby team. Lavanini and Galarza were the starting second-row combination for Argentina in the 2014 Rugby Championship.
