Paraguay played host to Argentina in the second of two CONSUR Cup matches last Saturday evening. After having defeated Uruguay 36-14 the previous weekend in Montevideo, Argentina needed a win to secure the South American title.

Led by scrumhalf Martín Landajo the visitors ran out comfortable winners and did so by scoring eleven tries to one. Left winger Santiago Cordero led the way with three tries while centre Jerónimo De la Fuente scored two. Also crossing were Joaquín Paz, Tomás Lezana, Julián Montoya, Tomás Carrió, Santiago González Valdez and Lisando Ahualli de Chazal. Fly half Juan León Novillo kicked twelve points while replacement Santiago González Iglesias landed four.
