Bautista Delguy signs for Bordeaux

Bautista Delguy has signed for Bordeaux. The 23-year-old will join the Top 14 club for the remainder of the 2020-2021 season. The move marks Delguy’s first professional rugby experience outside of Argentina.

He will not only join Bordeaux, he will also join Pumas teammates Santiago Cordero, and Guido Petti. All three players are in Australia competing in the Tri Nations. Delguy started on the right wing in the win over New Zealand and the draw against Australia.

Petti also started both games while Cordero was a replacement in both matches. The trio all former Jaguares. Cordero was a Jaguar in 2016-2017; Petti from 2016-2020 and Delguy from 2018-2020.

Delguy scored 12 tries in 22 Super Rugby matches for Los Jaguares. He has five test tries for Argentina in sixteen caps.

There is a healthy contingent of Argentine wingers in the Top 14. In addition to Santiago Cordero and Bautista Delguy at Bordeaux, there are three others. Juan Imhoff plays for Racing 92; Axel Müller for Brive and Ramiro Moyano for Toulon. Only Müller is not presently in Australia on Pumas duty.
