Thretton Palamo sticks with Old Glory for 2021

Thretton Palamo will play on for Old Glory DC in the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 31-year-old Eagles World Cup midfielder is set to play his third season in the league after acting as co-captain alongside Mungo Mason in the shortened 2020 campaign.

After joining the Houston SaberCats halfway through the 2019 season, Palamo made the move to Old Glory for their inaugural run in MLR. He started all five games at outside center, playing 97% of all possible minutes. Palamo earned praise for his defensive contributions that helped DC to a 4-1 record.

Old Glory has previously announced the signature of second row David Beach for 2021 while scrumhalf Harry Masters is also set to join. The team selected another lock in Casey Renaud and back row Matthew Gordon in the Collegiate Draft.

Already departed is flanker Matt Hughston while the future of Tendai Mtawarira with the team remains unconfirmed. The South Africa star was named CEO of Umlindi Security last month.
