The Seattle Seawolves have signed Welsh outside back Harry Davies for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. An imposing figure who stands 6’4″ (1.93m), the 25-year-old has represented in country on the Rugby Europe 7s circuit in 2013. He joins the defending champions after five seasons of professional rugby in the UK.
Davies was drafted into the Cardiff Blues academy at the age of 17 and played two seasons with their reserve-grade side in the Anglo-Welsh and British & Irish Cup competitions. He then moved to Bath in 2016 and made three appearances in the Premiership including two starts. The past two seasons were spent in the RFU Championship with Yorkshire Carnegie and most recently Bedford Blues.
Primarily a winger in England, Davies can also play fullback and wore the No15 shirt often while with Cardiff. He adds a different profile to Seattle’s outside backs who currently have Mat Turner and Brock Staller returning with David Busby arriving from Ulster. Eagles cap Peter Tiberio has retired while Canadian international Jeff Hassler’s future with the side remains unclear.
