Dan Moor signs for Yorkshire Carnegie

Dan Moor’s trial at Yorkshire Carnegie has gone well. Today the RFU Championship club confirmed that Moor has signed on for the 2018-19 season, joining Canada teammate Jake Ilnicki in the side. The duo will make their regular season club debuts on Friday with both named in the run-on side to face Hartpury at College Stadium.

The 28-year-old joins the club from Oxford University where he won a Blue in the Varsity Match against Cambridge last year. It’s the first professional contract for Moor, who has represented Canada 14 times since his debut against Uruguay in February 2016.

Moor will have nine rounds of Championship action to put himself in the frame for selection to the Canada squad for the World Cup qualifiers in November. He will find some familiar faces around the league with Brett Beukeboom and Matt Evans at Cornish Pirates, Shane O’Leary at Nottingham, and Ciaran Hearn with London Irish.
