Dino Waldren signs for London Scottish

USA prop Dino Waldren has signed to play professional rugby in England. The 26-year-old Californian joins London Scottish for the upcoming 2017-2018 RFU Championship season.

Capped 7 times by the USA Eagles, Waldren is a player to have been brought into the set-up by former Head Coach John Mitchell. Waldron debuted from the bench against Romania during the November 2016 internationals.

In 2017, Waldren played in the home Americas Rugby Championship wins in North America against Brazil, Canada and Uruguay. He also featured in the June Internationals, facing Georgia and in both wins over Canada.

At London Scottish, Waldren will link up with Kyle Baille. The players were on opposite teams in San Diego during the Rugby World Cup qualifier last month. The match was the most recent test match by both Waldren and Baille.

In joining London Scottish, Waldren is returning to Europe. Earlier in his career, Waldren played in Dublin, Ireland, for Blackrock College.

London Scottish plays in England’s second division, the RFU Championship. It is known as the Greene King IPA Championship for commercial reasons.

Waldron told London Scottish that:

“I’m very excited to be playing rugby in the country where it all started. The amount of history and rugby talent in England and across the U.K. is breathtaking, coming from the States. I am just grateful for the opportunity and excited for what is to come.”
