Bursic signs for PRO San Diego

Nikola Bursic will play for the San Diego franchise in the inaugural PRO Rugby season set to kick off in April. The powerful ball carrier becomes the second Chilean to join the new professional competition, following Lindenwood loose forward Sebastián Kalm who will play for Ohio.

Comfortable at lock or no8, Bursic appeared in all five matches during the Americas Rugby Championship for Los Cóndores, starting four and coming off the bench against the Eagles in Florida. The 22-year-old has now won eight caps for Chile, and joins from the Craighouse Old Boys (C.O.B.S.) club in Santiago.

A number of 2016 ARC participants will be joining him in the squad, with Mike Sosene-Feagai, Joe Taufete’e, Tom Bliss, Mike Te’o, Ryan Matyas, Taku Ngwenya, and Tim Stanfill all representing the Eagles, while Canadian Phil Mackenzie will also be part of the team.
